Danica – 3.5 months

Danica was a great sleeper from the day she was born. It wasn’t until the 7-8 week mark that I noticed changes in her sleep habits and overall temperament and daily behaviour. Quickly, my happy, great sleeping baby was waking more and more throughout the night and needed to be nursed to sleep. During the day she was extremely attached to me, I could hardly ever put her down, and nobody else could hold her. I was constantly trying gripe water, Tylenol, gas drops, etc. When she was 14 weeks old, I could not do it anymore. Danica was waking up 8+ times a night and daytime was physically exhausting from the constant bouncing, walking, sshhhing I would do, for her to only nap for a few minutes and I had to start the whole process over again. A friend of mine had hired SleepwWell Baby and I decided to give them a call. I had an encouraging and informative 90 minute meeting with Jen, and she developed Danica’s sleep plan and I started that night. The first night was very difficult, but I stuck with it.  Jen’s daily support and encouragement was SO helpful. By the 2nd night, Danica was sleeping on her own, in her crib, and only waking to feed twice. During the 2 week process, Danica worked out the need to feed out on her own and slowly stopped waking. By the end of the third week, my baby was being put in her crib awake, going to sleep on her own, and sleeping through the night. She is now 5 months old and she sleeps 13 hours straight and takes 3 naps a day. My child never cries now! The most valuable part of this service I found was the knowledge and education. I had no idea that so many issues are due to lack of sleep. I now know so much more about the signs of a tired/overtired baby, sleep schedules and times for each age, restorative sleep times, how to handle travelling and other little challenges. My daughter is an excellent sleeper and has learned the skill of how to put herself to sleep. I feel so great knowing that as she gets older, bedtime will not be a battle. Hiring SleepWell Baby was one of the best things I could have done for Danica and myself.
